Welcome to the Peoria Backpackers Meetup Group. If you like the outdoors as much as we do, and love sitting around the camp fire telling tall stories, this group is for you.  Come join us as we trek out into the Wilderness. This group would organize outings to take advantage of the many waters available in Central Illinois and beyond. Lots of still waters as well as seasonal rapids, usually in spring or fall. Canoes and kayaks available for rent at some locations, or bring your own! Overnight outings are also a possibility. Anyone who enjoys the outdoors should see it from water as well as land - a totally different experience, and fun for all ages. Some costs are involved at commercial canoeing/kayaking locations.
